Toucans de Paradis by Katie Scott

The toucan, a climbing bird characteristic of tropical forests, is particularly prevalent in the Amazon. Here, illustrator Katie Scott, who is passionate about biology and renowned for her botanical and animal plates, presents an imaginary species. The birds chirp proudly – no doubt heralding a song that will make them the kings of the woods! Their decorative plumage, characteristic of the bird-of-paradise and the peacock, underlines their rarity and the exotic inspiration of their designer. These elements combine to form a marvelous painting tinged with naturalism.

Les Roues de Phaeton by Pierre Marie

The phaeton, named after the son of the solar deity in Greek mythology, is a horse-drawn vehicle that was popular in the late 18th century in France and England. Lightweight and easy to handle, it allowed the driver to move swiftly around town. Here, the designer Pierre Marie presents a rear perspective of the model in the Émile Hermès collection, with its large wheels and delicate painted decoration. Around the scarf, framed by harmonious curves, a pattern of palmettes recalls the rug in Émile Hermès' office, where this precious carriage is displayed.

Exposition Universelle by Jan Bajtlik

Jan Bajtlik invites us to a universal exhibition full of surprises. Absurd humor and nods to history punctuate this multicolored map in which dinosaurs frolic under a cloche and penguins dance underwater. A Tower of Babel transformed into a spiral slide stands near a Trojan horse housing a spa, while four drones hold the Great Pyramid upside down. The designer finds inspiration in the great world fairs of the 19th century to recreate a fantasy park in which innovation, combined with gigantism, is represented in all its forms: pragmatic, poetic and entirely far-fetched.

La Danse des Amazones by Edouard Baribeaud

The Franco-German artist Édouard Baribeaud likes to combine mythical events with present moments. Here, a young woman half-concealed by a screen appears almost like an extension of its painted procession of amazons. In this composite interior, where antique mosaics feature alongside modern furniture, she seems to be preparing for a dinner or celebration. The scene abounds with contemporary and symbolic elements, such as a vinyl record that conveys the party atmosphere. Displayed in medallions around the edges of the design are emblems such as the owl, an allegory of wisdom, and the pomegranate, the fruit symbolic of fertility and knowledge.

La Legende du Cheval a Plumes by Ugo Gattoni

Ugo Gattoni invites us into a fantastical city populated by small, strangely human horses. At the foot of an imaginary pyramid reminiscent of the Tower of Babel, a multitude of characters roam through a futuristic cityscape aboard hovering shuttles, flying boats and galloping aircrafts. Inspired by the Mexican folklore that is so dear to him, the artist punctuates this exuberant metropolis with a musician in a sombrero, a traditional dancer, and cacti.

La Legende de la Foret by Emeline Piot

Evocative of manuscript illuminations, stained glass and gem setting, Émeline Piot's line unveils a mythological world. Here the stag, the guardian of the forest, draws legendary beings and wild animals into a strange dance. Fairy musicians, peaceful lions and proud birds populate this wonderful insignia-like fresco like a new genre of coat of arms, inviting the observer to explore luxuriant nature. All the woodland creatures, set with a thousand facets, reveal their mystery. La Legende de la Foret is Emeline Piot's first design for Hermès.

Tapis de Selle by Annie Faivre

Inspired by a visit to the Émile Hermès collection, Annie Faivre designed these richly adorned ceremonial saddle pads on which nature evokes imaginary and dreamlike lands. The artist freely interprets the conventions of flowers, rose windows, palmettes and branches in a celebration of the art of weaving and its traditional motifs. The croupelin, a rounded saddlecloth placed on the horse's lower back for special occasions, features in the corners of this sumptuous scarf.

Wild Singapore by Alice Shirley

Alice Shirley pays tribute to the stunning biodiversity of Singapore. A key stopover for birds migrating from northern Asia to Australia, this fertile island dotted with mangroves and rainforests is home to some unique flora and fauna. Most of the animal species depicted under the tree canopy – bats, greater mouse-deer, leopard cats and Malayan civets – are nocturnal and only come out at nightfall. At the center of the composition, a lion in the form of a tropical fig tree watches over the nature of Singapore, whose name means "the city of the lion" in Sanskrit, in reference to its founding legend.

Voltes et Pirouettes by Virginie Jamin

The browband, a decorative piece connected to the rest of the bridle by a rosette or hook, adorns the horse's forehead and its design can mark its membership of a family or clan. Virginie Jamin is passionate about the Émile Hermès collection and its equestrian pieces. Here she imagines a woven frame in which these decorated straps take flight, evocative of horse shows. The suppleness of movement is emphasized by the sinuous curves of the leather pieces, which intermingle, intersect or brush against each other in a dazzling choreography.

Le Tresor de Medor by Florence Manlik

Since its origins, the Émile Hermès collection has perpetuated the tradition of bringing together rare and atypical pieces. This is seen in compositions of real objects that allow us to appreciate their stylistic and typological variants at a single glance. It was one of these compositions, dated from 1923, that served as a model for this scarf on which dog collars are carefully arranged according to size or symmetry. A few years later, these adornments inspired the famous Collier de chien belt and eponymous bracelet. Florence Manlik's precise, meticulous hand, coupled with her undeniable sense of volume and material, create a piece of remarkable realism.

Les Leopards Modernes by Christiane Vauzelles/Francoise de la Perriere

Here, two famous scarves are combined into one, like a contemporary coat of arms. One half of the scarf presents a design by Christiane Vauzelles from 1967 in which two leopards frolic in a stylized natural setting. There is a clear harmony between these felines with mischievous grins, emphasized by the understated plant motifs and the symmetry of the design. On the other half, a collection of saddlery buckles designed in the late 1970s by Françoise de La Perrière pays tribute to Thierry Hermès, the Parisian harness-maker and founder of the House

Projets Carres au Crayon by Henri d'Origny

In 2004, Henri d'Origny created a photographic composition of various equestrian pieces that were conserved at either the Conservatoire des Créations or the Émile Hermès museum. Set within a harmonious frame, bronze stirrups, English bits, Ottoman spurs and fly-whisks form an elegantly structured ensemble. Entirely redrawn in pencil, Projets carrés embodies an understated sensuality of a line. The interplay of symmetry reveals motifs full of lightness, as if suspended in mid-flight. Reinterpretation of the 2007 design in crayon-style.

Flowers of South Africa by Ardmore Arists

The strange, South African protea flower has become a national symbol, flourishing at the heart of the fynbos, a mountainous, coastal ecosystem of exceptional biodiversity, benefiting from the Mediterranean climate of the Western Cape. Enshrined majestically at the center of this carré, in a fresh interpretation of a traditional, stylized design, the bloom evokes the signature ceramics produced by the Ardmore collective, the creative force behind this striking composition. Established by Fee Halsted in 1985, in KwaZulu Natal, this group of Zulu, Zimbabwean and Sotho artists aims to promote creativity and preserve the region’s aesthetic heritage. This is their third carré for the House of Hermès, following The Savana dance and La marche du Zambèze.

Les Trophees by Pierre Marie

Who could this incredible collection of trophies belong to? A young athlete who faithfully adheres to the famous Latin phrase "a healthy mind in a healthy body"... An easy-going sense of humor emanates from this evocation. The pieces shine, the characters seem to come to life, ribbons, medals and banners twirl around. You can find the Saut Hermès trophy, the medal of a racing cyclist, a Formula 1 car, skates, a golfer, a fencer... and even a lifeguard's certificate. It dates from 1895 and is none other than Émile Hermès who, diving into the Seine, saved three people from drowning. Faithful to the Hermes philosophy, this scarf features all kinds of sports.

La Folle Parade Zoom by Claire Fanjul

Inspired by the design of the Folle Parade scarf: This young French illustrator creates her first scarf, expressing her whimsical world on silk. This Folle Parade, "an enchanting masquerade straight out of a toy box full of wonders", was inspired by an 18th-century engraving depicting a carnival float in Rome. Humor, fantasy, and a touch of madness emerge from this composition. The float in the center is surmounted by turrets and pulled by a disguised, masked horse. A multitude of strange and humorous sketches play out around the edges, with wheels, architectural features, masks, tortoises, men with animals' heads, and jacks-in-the-box all busying themselves, frolicking around in constant motion.
