When Chanel released the CC in Love heart bag in Spring/Summer 2022 (S22), it was love at first sight. Now for Pre-Fall Winter 2025/26 (25B), Chanel brought the CC in Love Heart Bag back, and we’re falling … again.
Chanel’s Original Heartbreaker
Before the CC in Love, there was another heartthrob: the Chanel Heart Vanity Case. In 1995, Karl Lagerfeld introduced a heart-shaped top-handle vanity case with diamond quilting, interlocking CCs, a dual-zip top, and a leather-woven handle. It didn’t feature the turn-lock or flap design we associate with the 2022 version, but it laid the groundwork.
Old Flame: The 2022 CC in Love Heart Collection
The CC in Love Collection first appeared in 22S. It featured the House’s code—quilted lambskin, CC turnlock, a Mona Lisa back pocket, and a chain strap—on a heart-shaped silhouette. Released in black, white, pink, purple, blue, and gold, it came in four main formats: the Heart Bag, Clutch with Chain, Belt Bag, and Wristlet. They were Chanel’s heart-shaped take on the Classic Flap.
The S22 Heart Bag
This is the only actual handbag in the S22 lineup. Measuring 7 x 6.5 x 2 inches with a 20-inch drop, it’s sometimes called the Large. It features a top-zip closure with two zipper pulls that meet in the center (one featuring a CC heart at the tip), a CC turn-lock front pocket, a long leather-interlaced chain strap, and a Mona Lisa back pocket. It’s lightweight and wearable either crossbody or over the shoulder. Despite the novelty silhouette, the interior is roomy enough for a phone, wallet, and more.
The S22 Heart Clutch with Chain
Smaller than the Heart Bag (and sometimes called the Mini), the CC in Love Heart Clutch with Chain is just as structured (and heartwarming). It measures 5.25 x 5 x 1.75 with a 22-inch drop. The Clutch with Chain keeps the top-zip and turn-lock details, but scales them down for more compact wear. It fits your core essentials, but your phone may not make the cut. While technically a small leather good, it still delivers on presence and resale demand.
The S22 Heart Belt Bag
Even more compact at 4.5 x 4.5 x 1.8 in, it’s designed as a hands-free option. It can be worn around the waist or crossbody and includes a leather-interlaced chain strap with a charming CC charm.
The S22 Heart Wristlet
The smallest of the 2022 lineup, the CC in Love Heart Wristlet is a micro heart with just enough space for a few coins or lip balm. It’s designed to hang from the wrist. While low in function, it’s high in collectability.
25B: New Heart, Same Beat
For 25B, Chanel brings the CC in Love Heart Bag back with a nearly identical silhouette and a few subtle upgrades. All styles are crafted in lambskin leather, released in black, white, light pink, and metallic silver.
The 25B Heart Bag
The reissue shares the same dimensions as the original: 7 x 6.5 x 2 inches. Updates include a slightly wider front flap (now 7 inches, up from 6¾ inches), a thicker CC logo, and a strap drop increased to 20.5 inches. The interior now fits a large phone vertically instead of sideways.
The 25B Heart Clutch with Chain
Slightly smaller than the original, this one measures 4.7 x 5.1 x 2.2 inches, with a 22-inch strap drop. It continues to offer the same structured silhouette and compact utility.
The 25B Heart Belt Bag
The new version retains its 4.5 x 4.5 x 1.8 inches dimensions and leather-interlaced chain strap. While there are no structural changes, it is available in the new color palette, complete with a dainty, dangling CC charm.
The 25B Mini Heart Bag Charm
New to the lineup is a micro-sized addition measuring 3 x 3.3 x 2 inches. While it doesn’t hold much more than your lip balm, it builds on Chanel’s growing lineup of collectible handbag charms. It’s available in white and light gray lambskin for 25B.
