Considering adding an Ecrou de Cartier to your stack? A considered size makes it comfortable, stackable, and impactful. Let’s get into the nuts and bolts of finding the right fit.
The Ecrou de Cartier
Just like the Juste un Clou (and in fact, inspired by it), the Ecrou de Cartier draws from industrial elements. In this case, it’s nuts and bolts rather than a nail, hence the name Ecrou, French for nut. The ridged band features movable bolt details and comes in yellow gold, rose gold, and white gold (some sparkling with diamonds), adding industrial glamour to your stack.

The Perfect Fit
The Ecrou de Cartier should sit snugly, not slide like a casual bangle. A loose fit can cause shifting and wear, while the right size keeps it secure and comfortable for stacking. Unlike the LOVE bracelet (which requires sizing up), the Ecrou works best when sized true to your wrist measurement.
Haute Tip: Remember, your left and right wrists can vary in size due to dominance, so measure the wrist you want to wear it on.
Cartier Sizes
Measure your wrist before committing to a size. Use either the Cartier Sizing Tool or a tape measure. Cartier sizes refer to the bracelet’s inner circumference, so match them to your wrist size for the most accurate fit. If your measurements fall between two sizes, round up for the right fit.
The 15: 15 cm (5.9”)
The 16: 16 cm (6.3”)
The 17: 17 cm (6.7”)
The 18: 18 cm (7.1”)
The 19: 19 cm (7.5”)
The 20: 20 cm (7.9”)
The 21: 21 cm (8.3”)
Using the Cartier Sizing Tool
Print the tool with scaling set to “none” for accuracy, trim along the edges, and make the slit where indicated. Slide the narrow end through the slit to form a loop, place it around your wrist bone, and pull until it fits snugly without pressing into your skin. The number aligned with the slit is your size.
Using a Tape Measure
Wrap it snugly (but not tightly) around your wrist bone with the 0 mark at your starting point—don’t measure from the tape’s edge or metal tip. Read where the 0 meets the tape. If your tape’s 0 sits a few millimeters in from the edge, subtract the same gap from your total.
Haute Tip: No tape measure? Use a string instead. Mark it at the overlap, then measure the mark against a ruler starting at 0.
Lock It In
That’s it—your Ecrou de Cartier is ready to wear. Now that you’ve nailed the fit, here’s how to put one on. Need sizing tips for your other Cartier pieces? See our guides How to Fit Your Juste Un Clou Bracelet and Everything You Need to Know Before Locking in Cartier LOVE Bracelets.
